Pottery Studio
Pottery tiles are being used to help create a
one of a kind pottery studio at the Mary C.
O'Keefe Cultural Center for
Arts and Education
The pottery studio (being called the Annette
McConnell Anderson Pottery Studio) will help
individuals either wanting to try their hands at
the art and/or wanting to become
serious potters.

This organization works to advance the
knowledge and enjoyment of art in the
community
and give artists an opportunity to
express themselves through various media
and exhibit their original work.

Shearwater Pottery
Established in 1928 by master potter Peter
Anderson, Shearwater Pottery is a
familyoperated
artistic pottery studio
renowned for
works that combine decorative
beauty and
usefulness. The show room is open Monday-
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday
afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Art House
A co-op gallery operated by the Ocean Springs
Art Association. Over 30 working artisans
featuring
painted-rug floors, outdoor sculptures,

Old L&N Depot
Built in 1907, the Depot was a central point
in the day-to-day life of the City until 1965,
when rail service was terminated. After leasing
the Depot for 14 years, the Ocean Springs
Chamber of Commerce purchased it in 1979.
The Depot was selected for the National
Register of Historic Places in 1979. Today, the
101-year-old building is home to a permanent
art collection, and displays the works of some
of the Ocean Springs' artists and craftsmen.

Old Ocean Springs Historic District
Houses and churches built in the mid- to
ate-nineteenth century (i.e., circa 1850-1899)
are located along several of the streets
throughout this neighborhood. The name
"Ocean Springs" was chosen for the
community in 1854. |
